Troopers along Punjab border celebrate Diwali


Chandigarh, Oct 19 (IANS): Border Security Force (BSF) troopers celebrated Diwali on Thursday along the border out posts of Punjab's international border with Pakistan.

Reports of celebrations were reported in border areas of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Fazilka districts.

Celebrations at some places took place on Wednesday night.

Punjab shares a 553-km long international border with Pakistan which is guarded round-the-clock by BSF troopers. Strict vigil is maintained along the border at all times.
