Tumakuru, Dec 13: Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) from Tumakuru, Ravishankar Reddy, has ordered the suspension of three teachers of a high school who made students to drink alcohol during a school excursion recently.

Head teacher Sachidananda, teachers Sheikh Mazambil and Dhansingh Rathod are the suspended persons.

As per details available, the teachers had taken the students of Bommaladevipura High School for an excursion to Belur in Hassan district. During that time the teachers mixed alcohol in water and gave to the students. Around 20 students vomited later and fell sick.

The incident came to the attention of parents and DDPI after the news was broadcast in a TV channel. DDPI immediately visited the school and held investigation. Based on the preliminary investigation, he has suspended three teachers.

Sadly the mixing of alcohol was not accident, but intentional. Teachers did it with the motive of making the students intoxicated.
