Mangaluru: Man's body found under bridge at Suratkal, murder suspected

Mangaluru, Jun 2: A man's body was found at Suratkal here on the morning of Saturday June 2.

The deceased has been identified as Mariyappa, aged 45-50 years, from Kabbaragi, Koppal.

The body was found in a drainage channel under the Chokkabettu bridge on Suratkal-Krishnapura road.

The body was decomposed and a sack and some clothes were found covering the body. Sources claimed that the body was stuffed into the sack, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Locals who gathered at the spot said that the man was a labourer.

Sources said that the body was found to be dismembered.

Police said that prima facie, it seemed like a case of murder;

Police commissioner and other police officers visited the spot.

The body has been shifted to the mortuary.
