Benedicta Saldanha (84) (nee Rodrigues), wife of the late Claude Saldanha of Rapid City, South Dakota, originally from Permude, Mangalore, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Daughter of : The late Baptist & the late Magdeline (nee Misquith) Rodrigues Prabhu, originally from Permude, Mangalore.
Sister of : Severine, Seraphine, Agnes, Leo & Paul (all deceased).

Funeral details:

Viewing will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 9.00 am - 10.00 am at Saint Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, 532 Adams St, Rapid City, SD 57701 Phone: (605) 342-1556. Rosary will be at 9.30 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am at Saint Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, 532 Adams St. followed by Interment - Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4301 Tower Road, Rapid City, SD 57701.

My deepest condolences to all people who knew Aunty Benedicta Saldanha. She was a gem of a person, generous and gracious. May God bless her and help her rejoin Uncle Claude who went before.

Dear Esthu Aunty (wife of the late Uncle Leo), Aunty Celine (wife of the late Uncle Paul) and nephews & nieces of Aunty Benny and all extended family members:

Please accept our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies on Aunty Benny's passing away.

Benny Aunty was a quiet, compassionate and deeply religious lady.

Little info on Benny Aunty........She was born in 1935. She worked as a teacher in Mangalore for few years before moving to Quilon (now Kollam) where she worked as an Accountant. In March 1978 she married Claude Saldanha in Mumbai and moved with him to Rapid City, South Dakota, USA.

Benny Aunty and I came to USA during the same time in 1978. Uncle calude and Aunty Benny had a lovely home in Rapid City, just 10 miles from famous "Mount Rushmore" & "Crazy Horse". We visited their place many times. We traveled together in the US, going to various places like Devil's Tower, Yellowstone National Park, Bad Lands in South Dakota and famous caves in the US to name a few.

Both of them were great hosts when fifteen (15) of us crashed in at their place in Rapid City during our vacation in July 1993.

We cherish all the good old memories. We will miss Aunty Benny. She is always in our prayers.

We will pray for all extended family members. Aunty will always be remembered.

MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.
