Fr Raymond Rego, Lucknow diocese, passed away on April 14, 2019.
Funeral on Tuesday, April 16 at 3.30 pm in Cathedral Church, Lucknow.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let your perpetual light shine upon Fr Ray.
Thank for your kind words about Rev Fr Raymond Rego, my bappu, and your interaction with him. Indeed he was a good man as the bishop of Lucknow Rev Gerald Mathias said during the homily at the mass dedicated to Rev bishop Ignatius. My sister Ginny Saldanha and me attended the mass and the last rites and were joined by over 60 priests and 100 nuns at the Cathdral of Lucknow . Fr. Raymond nephew Fr Edwin Coleho was also present. In fact he was given a royal send off at Cathedral of Lucknow and cemetery at Loretto. I as a young boy in 1958 was escorted him when he came for his yearly holidays to Bajpe and our home Rego Garden. He was used to take me to his sisters and our relatives houses. Those memories are alive with me and I can visualize them vividly. I also served for many years as a alter boy for him at Bethany convent and St Josephs Bajpe including his first Holy Mass in 1963 DecemberFr Raymond Rego was a man of words very much detached from worldly pursuits. He was an enigma.Thank Bappu for your blessings and guidance. May his soul rest in peace.Rtn. Robert F Rego, Rego Garden, Bajpe, 9880201410. robertfranklinrego@yahoo.in
May Eternal rest be granted unto him and may his soul rest in peace.
Dear Robert, Ginny and fly heart felt sympathies at the demise of your uncle. I remember while I was studying at Bajpe, Fr Raymond taught us some Hindi hymns. I cherish them even today and began to love Hindi hymns and bhajans. He was so simple, loving and approachable. This is my childhood memory. Your whole family was godfearing, loving and cordial to any one. Uncle's prayers and life must have been a source of inspiration to all of you. May His soul rest in peace. May God's blessings continue to flow in your family. Praying.Sr Celine Vas
Dear Rego family of Bajpe, my heart felt condolences to you and your family members.Fr Raymond was very saintly priest, few months back I personally met him at Luknow, and I had my lunch with him.He was very good and able to manage his needs.May his soul rest in peace.FR Richrard Lasrado
may his soul rest in peace.
While offering my prayers for Fr. Raymond and condolences to His grieving family I am sorry to hear of Raymonds passing away. I want to believe that being one of the first 5 Indian priests to be ordained for Lucknow, for which event I was present, he has shown the way to many more to follow him as the diocese is sufficiently staffed with priests. The four are Bishop Igantius6389 Menezes, and Fathers Godwin Anthony, Theodore Pinto and Julian Pinto. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Condolences to Robert Rego and Rego Family. May Father's Soul Rest in peace. Sherry from Pardhane Family.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and perpetual light shine upon him.May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
