Mangalore, Aug 30: Fr Salvadore Lobo SJ passed away on the evening of Wednesday, August 30 in Mangalore
Fr Salvadore was born in Loreto on May 6, 1937. After his initial studies he joined the Society of Jesus on July 1, 1957 to be a priest. He was ordained a priest on March 3, 1968.
Fr Lobo was an expert in Moral Theology which he taught most part of his priestly life at St Joseph's Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore. He played a major role in the formation of the Diocesan clergy for many years.
After his retirement from the Seminary, Fr Lobo served St Aloysius College Jesuit Residence as an Administrator. In the recent past, he was at Fatima Retreat House, Mangalore.
On Wednesday evening, Fr Lobo had a massive heart attack. He was rushed to Fr Muller's Hospital. While on his way to the hospital, Fr Lobo breathed his last.
Fr Lobo's mortal remains will be kept open for the public to pay last respects at Fatima Retreat House, at 2.30 pm on Thursday, August 31. The funeral will take place at the Seminary at 4.00 pm.
