Fr Jayant Kumar Padival SJ (71), passed away on September 8, 2020.
Burial service on Wednesday, September 9 at 3.30 pm.
Due to the COVID restrictions, only a few are permitted to attend the burial service.

He was my spiritual father in my seminary. He worked in Manipur closer to my parish in Nagaland...... our memories will remain forever 🙏🙏. We will meet in heaven 🙏🙏🙏
Very sad to hear about dear Fr. Jayanth,'s passing away. He was a holy priest and administered his religious duties with great passion. He brought communion every week for my mum pre lockdown days, till March. Enjoyed his chats with us reliving his missionary work in the North East. Ivy,/ Tossy he mentioned you'll often when he knew of my Kuwait connection, and Ivy and I were in school together. May your dear soul rest in peace dear Father. My deepset condolences to uncle Dolphy and family for this sudden demise of a brother, to me he was more a father figure. It's hard to believe his passing. Dear Friend Jayanth, my co-novice and co-missionary in Northeast India. We journeyed together for forty years in Nagaland, Manipur and Meghalayaand three years ago we celebrated our Golden Jubilee in the Society of Jesusat your last mission, Liyai among the Poumei tribe, in Northeastern part of Manipur.Your failing health took you back to the native place, Mangalore for a warmer climate.You have gone ahead of us to prepare a place for us.Thank you Jayanth, thank you, friend.Dear Dolpy and Philo and your families, you have lost a brother but gained an intercessor in heaven.My heartfelt condolences to the Tauro family.

Our association with Fr Jayanth is for more than 30 years since the time he was in Imphal, Manipur. Heard of his sudden passing away with shock.
