Sun, Feb 07 2021Dear Helen (my sister), and her beloved children Patricia (husband - Vineet), Melissa, Brandon (wife – Romi) and grandson Kiaan; please accept my heartfelt condolences at this hour of grief, due to the untimely demise of my brother-in-law, Joe Peter Gonsalves. May the Lord, give you all, necessary courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss. I knew Joe Peter Gonsalves, as a friend, ever since he was 7 years old boy, as we both were students of the same batch of Sunday catechism classes. Though later on in life, he went on to become my brother-in-law, we were intimate friends for the last 62 years. During our entire life we both used to address one another, by our first names, as friends rather than as relatives. His indefatigable spirit of providing, all the necessities to his family, providing education to his younger sisters including shouldering the responsibilities, single handedly, of getting his younger sisters married, was recognized and applauded by one and all. He ensured that his nephews and nieces got necessary education and it helped them be placed in suitable places in their lives, which in turn helped them to earn decent livelihood. Hence, we all remember him for his good endeavour. Joe Peter Gonsalves, wished to live a comfortable retired life along with his dear wife (my sister) for which he toiled hard throughout his life. But, the Lord had different plans for him. He left us too early living his beloved family behind. We all will cherish his fond memories throughout our remaining lives. We pray, O Lord, to grant eternal rest and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in everlasting peace. Amen.

Sat, Feb 06 2021According to John 5:28,29. God revealing the truth about the dead, the Bible also shows that God has a purposed to restore the dead to life by means of a resurrection. The hour is coming, said Jesus, in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Christ's] voice and come out. - Acts 24:15. Jesus gave us preview when he resurrected a number of people from the dead. Believe in resurrection of Jesus is central to our Christian hope. So we will see our uncle very soon in the paradise on this earth.
