It was with much sadness and pain that we learnt of the passing away of dear Aunt Veera late last night. Our condolences to Uncle Richard, Glenn/Veena, Renee and others. Being closely related to my wife, we were quite close to her. In fact, in the early 90s, she had stayed with us for a few years in Muscat, and I still remember the sports and politics discussions we'd have. And not to forget the jokes and camaraderie in our place. She was a pleasant lady, knowledgeable, disciplined and punctual. Aunty was a live wire, so to say. I'm almost tempted to say that we've lost a legend. And when it came to prayers and Church attendance, it was a typical no-nonsense approach. As my good friend, Gerry D'Mello mentioned in one of the comments, she was an active 'Gurkarn' of the Bendur Church. Noble service indeed. With folded hands, we ask our Lord Jesus to grant her a special place in Heaven. We will always retain fond memories of you, Aunty.
