Valerian Augustine Lobo (72), Ex Bank of India staff, son of the late Monthu Lobo and the late Brijith Lobo, husband of the late Gracilda Rosemaria Lobo, father of Avinash/Tracy and Abilash, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

The family invites friends and well-wishers to pay their respects during a public viewing at the St. Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, from 4.30 PM, followed by Mass at 5.00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

When I heard this terrible news, my thoughts went back to the early 80’s when I had the pleasure of meeting uncle-Vally. I have come to know him as a man of ethics and principles. He enjoyed noble company and had a good sense of humor. I would visit him often at the Bank of India where he worked, and he would buy me cup of tea (all this in the late 80’s). We parted but remained good family friends over the years. Avinash/Tracy and Abilash no words will console the loss of your father. But please remember he lived a good life, worked hard all his life, and cared deeply about his family and friends. God will be kind to him as he enters Eternal Life, and for those of us who knew him well – the fond memories will always remain. Goodbye uncle-Vally, it was a true Blessing to have known you. We met Valerian just a month back. We as a group were going to Holy Land, and dear Valerian was in our group, full of life, jovial, making new friends. Unfortunately the tour had to be cancelled and now, God has called him to his paradise. May he rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to his sons and family .
