Dr G M Motensar (81), husband of Joan Motensar (née Mascarenhas), father of Amberine/ Vijay Saldanha, Suhaila / Santosh Pinto, grandfather of Katelyn and Trisha Saldanha and Gavin Pinto, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Mortal remains will be brought to Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, Mangalore at 3.00 pm for viewing on Sunday, March 10, followed by Mass at 3:30 pm. Funeral rites will be conducted at his hometown, Sirsi.

No flowers please.

Dear Joan, Amberine, Lailu and family We were shocked to hear about the sad demise of Dr Motensar. He was truly a man of upstanding character, always kind and gentle. I, Judy, spent many good times with the family in Al Ain and I treasure these happy days. Dear Joan, we have no words to console you during this difficult time. You will be in our thoughts and prayers along with your family. The last time we saw you both at your home in Falnir during our very short trip to Mangalore, will be a lasting memory. Dr Motensar will be missed, but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace. Both of you are dear to us and never was a trip to Mangalore complete without seeing you.

Dear Joan, Amberine Vijay, Suhaila Santosh , Katelyn , Trisha and Gavin 8th March 24 is very sad day not only to all of you but we too. Joan lost her loved husband, Amberine and Suhaila lost their adoring father and Grand Chidden lost their beloved papa and we lost our best friend. There are many friends we cultivate in our lives but few are closely bonded and close to heart and mind. Dr Motensar , was one of our dearest and close friend. Dr Motensar was always soft spoken, compassionate , very helpful not only to friends or known people but strangers too who needed Medical advise or help. I do remember his Clinic at Al Ain and his patients were not only from India but also from several other counties who always talked about not only his Medical advise and relief but also compassion, Kindness , personal care and giving them peace and solace. Personally I have great memories , wonderful moments lasting 45 years which we will treasure. Memories in Alain, Our holiday visits and stay at Vas lane and Laxignton Road, and recently beautiful reunion after covid, at New Jersey at Amberine home with full family. Those moments will be membered throughout our lives. Dear Joan , Amberine Suahaila Vijay , Santhosh and grand Children , Dr Motensar is no more and that VOID cannot be filled. But all of you gave him great love and care and that is your consolation, He was always surrounded with love and affection . He was happy in his retired life travelling with Joan , spending time at NJ, Canada , with Children and grand Children .
