Heartfelt condolences to all members of the bereaved family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Respectful farewell to His Grace, the Right Reverend Dr Alphonsus Mathias. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let your perpetual light shine upon the departed soul.
A kind and compassionate soul who worked tirelessly for the Upliftment of the poor in Chickmagalur diocese and in the Archdiocese. His motto was to bring unity in the church among the clergy and the laity which was divided on linguistic lines that cost him his health. Always a champion of kannada, excellent scriptural scholar, proficient in kannada and started many kannada medium schools in Chickmagalur diocese for the benefit of the youth. Abp Alphonsus Mathias personally replied to all the suggestions given to him with grace, appreciation and humility. He was the people's Bishop. May he rest in peace.
May his soul rest in peace Amen 🕯️✝️💐
My heartfelt condolences to each and every family member of this beloved Bishop. His dedicated service to the community was immeasurable. I was in Olivate Boarding School studying in the 7th Standard. I served as an altar boy for him when he celebrated the Eucharist at our chapel. He used to come from Jeppu Seminary. I also served as an altar boy for him at Kankanady Cloistered Nuns Church. He was a very good priest. Eternal Rest Grant unto Him, O Lord, and may his soul rest in peace. Amen. Roland Noronha
