Fr Stanley Coelho, OFMCap (85), passed away on October 31, 2024.

Mortal remains will be brought to St Anne’s Friary Chapel, Mangalore on Saturday, November 2, where a Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at 1.30 pm.

Thereafter, the mortal remains will be taken to St Fidelis Friary, Monte Mariano, Farangipet. Funeral Mass and burial will be at 3.30 pm.

We are deeply saddened at the passing away of our dear Fr. Joe. He was a simple, jovial and a dedicated priest. Fr. Joe was an integral part of Rosilla and we have very fond memories of his visits to our home and conversations around our dining table. He has blessed all the nuptials in our family and at all times available as a guide and mentor to us. As we bid Fr. Joe farewell, he will always be remembered with love and respect. I second the above comments of Vivek Pinto. Father Joe loved to visit the homes of extended family and share his unique experiences and his fountain of knowledge on the subject of Theology . Always happy and upbeat, he was a true shepherd of the Lord. May Father Joe enjoy this day , his well earned place among the heavenly angels.🙏 We are happy that over the last couple years our nephew Rajesh and his better half Andrea made up for the absence of his family (residing overseas) by visiting him often and bringing him care and good cheer. Our condolences to Rajesh Noronha, Noreen Sundaraj, Francene Noronha, Hermie Dhabliwala , Francis Coelho and their families. Dear Uncle Francis, Aunty Jovita and the Coelho family, please accept our heartfelt sympathies. Fr. Stanley (or Fr. Joe as we all called him) was an intellectual, with the grace, gentleness and humility that touched the lives of so many around him. I remember the times he used to visit us, since we were kids, and his jovial nature and intellectual conversations that kept the lunch or dinner table conversations flowing. I was blessed to have met him last month, along with Aunty Jovita, and spent some time with him. Eternal rest grant unto him dear Lord.
