Justine Mascarenhas (87), wife of the late Julian Mascarenhas, mother of Gretta/the late Maxim, Hubert/Wilma, Genevive/Roque and Linette/Alexander, grandmother of Gareth/Berenice, Gordon/Nina, Kenrick, Amanda/Jason, Roxanne/Jason, Delora/Ian, Rayner/Lisha, Nainika and Avinash/Mansha, great grandmother of Julia, Amir, Emma, Chloe, Leila, Amal, Declan, Noah, Rafael and Luca, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2025

Mortal remains will be brought to St Sebastian Church, Bendur, Mangalore for viewing at 8:30 am on Saturday March 1, followed by Holy Mass at 9:00 am.

Burial will take place at St Joseph’s Church, Hirebile, after the funeral ceremony at 3:00 pm, on the same day.

Within a short span, the St. Joseph's Church, Hirebile Parish community has lost three brave women: Elizabeth Serrao, Leena Pereira, and now Justin Mascarenhas. These women, along with their husbands, worked tirelessly for the betterment of the parish community. Justin Mascarenhas, wife of the late Julian Mascarenhas, played a significant role in building the present church. Jethu Aunty, as she was affectionately known, was kind, humble, and always cheerful. She would often bring flowers to the church for the altar and spend time maintaining the priest's residence garden, embodying the spirit of Laudato Si. God blessed Jethu Aunty with 87 long years, and she remained a strong pillar of the Hirebile parish.
