Viewing from Thursday, July 31 to Friday, August 1 till 3.00 pm at - C1700, 2nd Cross, Yerappa Garden Road, Austin Town (behind Bangalore Electricity Board), Bangalore (Landmark: Jasmadevi Kalyana Mantapa).

There will be a blessing and a prayer service at home before the mortal remains are taken to St John’s Medical Hospital, as he wished for his body to be donated to science.

Naveen Joseph Fernandes, was a simple, but esteemed soul, who waged a valiant battle against cancer these last few years, confronting his destiny with quiet courage, and a calm fortitude that spoke volumes of his indomitable spirit. Naveen's professional odyssey lay in the realm of investment and finance. Across a varied and interesting career that spanned four decades, he held senior roles in leading stockbrokerages, mutual funds, and wealth management firms. In retirement, he embraced academia with characteristic elan, quickly rising to be a cherished visiting faculty at Christ University and St Joseph's College, Bangalore. There, he was admired and loved as an inspiring, encouraging and completely student-centric mentor and teacher. I last conversed with him over the phone mere months ago, when illness had already taken its toll. Yet, true to form, he remained his affable, jovial self. During that last call, we fondly reminisced our halcyon days as classmates, dreamers and schemers, and later, as business partners during a couple of fleeting years of collaboration. Naveen leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him - a testament to a life lived with grace, purpose, and kindness. Our deepest condolences to Sylvia, Kripa, his brothers, and all members of the bereaved family.
