I was a student of Sister Valentine Pinto at Maris Stella College, Vijayawada. I am sorry about our Sister's loss. She's been a very special person to me. She illuminated my life with her light. She's always on my mind. I wish to visit her grave someday. Could you please be kind enough to tell me where she is resting and also could you please share a picture of our dear Sister Valentine as I have none.

Sr. Valentine, the second child and the first girl child of the family was the beloved of all as she was a warm and responsible person in the family. She was a teacher by profession when she joined the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Congregation at the age of 23. Valentine is known as “Vally Bai” in the family and around. Her life was characterized by: • Devout life • Spreading smiles through her warmth, care and concern • Listening to the burdened, the lonely, sick, old and the needy • Life of service • Disciplined, value-oriented life • Love for justice and fearless in fighting against odds • Strong will power and hard work • Leadership Vally Bai has motivated us, her younger brothers and sisters to a value-oriented, disciplined and devout life.

To me, personally she has been a source of inspiration in my consecrated life. 25th December morning, the sudden unexpected news that Vally Bai had massive heart attack and is on Ventilator at the hospital in Goa, shook us. Perhaps the time till 28th morning was given by the Lord himself to prepare us to accept the bitter truth. The large crowds attracted to attend the last rites of Valentine and the 7th day requiem Mass at Bajpe in M’lore were a consolation to the living, in knowing the love people had for her.

In Valentine the family loses a warm daughter/sister and her support and the F.M.M. congregation may lose a ardent missionary but we believe that the Lord has forgiven her offences and has welcomed her to the heavenly abode which she is presently enjoying. We miss very much a lovely physical co-traveler on earth but have won a powerful intercessor in heaven. Sr. Valentine Pinto belonged to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Congregation. Prior to joining the Congregation she was a teacher in St. Joseph's School, Bajpe. As a nun she served Holy Rosary School, Goa as Principal for nine years, Vice-Principal for two years and Superior of the Convent for two years. In fact, she died as Superior. She also served in the houses of the Congregation in Shirva,Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kotagiri, Chennai and Vijayawada. She died of a massive heart attack
