We accept the demise of our dearest Fr.Sylvester,as a plan of the Almighty. My father Damian D'Cunha, now resident of Koppa -Chickmagalur, used to say that Fr.Sylvester was one of his best students in Taccode - Moodbidri in the Church School and they were in constant touch. I remember meeting him very recently in the Fr.Muller's Hospital and having a chat. May his soul rest in Peace Amen. Roney, Aboline, Astrid & Aureen D'Cunha.

Heartfelt condolences to the family members of Fr. Sylvester. We were a small Catholic community in Manipal in the 70's where all the people knew each other well. He encouraged us a lot as children to take part in the various church activities. May his soul rest in peace.
I have very fond memories of Fr. Sylvester who was a fatherly figure to most of us. A few things that strike me most about his personality are that he cared for the poor and the marginalized he was a lover of nature (we could see many flower plants, especially 'jeenia', all around) he was a linguist, so much so that he introduced prayers and the Holy Eucharist in non-Konkani languages (e.g. Kannada and Tulu) he lived a very simple life, etc. May God grant him eternal rest.
We are greatly sad on the sudden demise of Rev. Fr. Sylvester, who is closely known to my family as he was a Parish Priest in Barkur. We hereby offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of Rev. Fr. Sylvester. May his soul rest in peace through the mercy of GOD. Jerome & Felcy and Russell/Daphney & Rolston

Our Heartfelt Condolences on the sad demise of Fr. Sylvester D'Souza. THere are no words to describe Fr. Sylvester, as he was such a down to earth person, who served Lord and helped a lot of poor people without prejudice to their status, religion, caste and moreover he loved all those people who came to him for help. His life reminds me of Jesus Christ, as he was always a peoples man, He showed genuine concern to people and their well being.
My first encounter with him was during 1986, when he visited our AICUF unit in the capacity of State AICUF Director and we spent couple of days with him in Karkala and then a week in Fatima Retreat House during state level Seminar. I cannot forget the way he used to inspire each one of us in the Group through his talks, encouragement and love that he shared with us. He was loved by all and today, when I read the news of his demise, few tears rolled down from my eyes without my knowledge, as I remembered him offering our wedding nuptial mass in 1999, in Karkala Church. May his soul rest in peace and our sincere and heafelt condolences to the members of his family.
I remember Fr. Sylverster for the work done by him towards AICUF when he was at Manipaland used to visit all the Catholic Colleges to organise Catholic Students. He was also surrounded and loved by children as he used to carry pocket full of chocolates under the cassock. He used to call the children near him and used to talk to them and give them a chocolates. (including me as a kid). You seldom find any priest of this simplicity with embodiment of love and dedication. May his soul rest in peace.
Fr. Sylvester - We cannot forget how he worked tirelessly to build Christ Church accross the "Lake" in Manipal in 1967. How he won the admiration of the Manipal community in the late 60s and early 70s. How he gave spiritual shelter to students (and their parents)from all parts of India and abroad studying in the colleges in Manipal. Eternal Rest to you dear Fr. Sylvester and condolences to all the family members
I remember Fr. Sylverster for his prayer life and for his works of charity. When he was our Parish Priest, he used to spend an hour everyday in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. He had helped also to build many houses for our poor people. I express my heart felt condolences to Fr. Cyprian and all his Family members and pray for the eternal rest of our dear Fr. Sylvester.
