Reginald L Sreshta ( Reggie) (89), son of the late M S Sreshta, husband of Connie nee Coelho, father of Joseph / Yvonne, Harold / Leelah, Beryl / the late Alwyn, Dominic / Anita, Martin and the late Berna, wife of Joseph D’Souza, grandfather of Nicky / Erin, Andrea, Jonathan, Frank, Sharon, Eirc, Joanne, Jason, Dylan and Abhigail, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012.

Mortal remains will be brought to Rosario Cathedral, Bolar, Mangalore, at 3.00 pm on Tuesday, March 6 followed by Mass. Burial at Valencia Church, Mangalore.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Uncle Reggie was simple in nature. A man of integrity, honesty and dedicated service. In uncle Reggie, we have lost a wonderful man who was loved and admired by all whom he came in contact with. We pray God Almighty to grant his soul eternal rest and eternal peace. For the last several years he has worked tirelessly to help us with our property in Mangalore despite his health problems.

I, Sharon, as the oldest grandchild and godchild that could not be here today would like say my final farewell to my grandfather.

I grew up in admiration to this multifaceted man that was:

my protector when I was a baby and his baby, Martin, wanted to throw me off a roof for destroying toys while they were at school

my moral compass to teach me what respect, character and integrity in life amounted to

my entertainment for long chats on topics far and wide, to his pranks that made me question "Is he pulling my leg again?"

my teacher from beautiful penmanship to letters of wisdom and social change

and finally my dear parental figure after my father passed away 12 years ago.

So thank you for being such intregal part of my life.

You were my amazing grandfather so kind, tolerant, patient, intelligent, grateful, strong in character and values!

So today from our favorite movie "Sound of Music", I will say so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, and goodbye!
