Peter Monteiro (Pit Pat) (63), husband of Irene Monteiro, father of Preetham Roy, Reshma and Pearl Monteiro, father-in-law of Payal, grandfather of Kayden, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

Funeral on Thursday, March 7 at 4 pm in St Vincent Pallotti Church, Vijaynagar, Mumbai.

Peter was one of the rarest persons who were ready to do anything for Konkani. He was instrumental in bringing together Konkani speaking people in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia under an umbrella against all the restrictions in the kingdom during his days in Dammam. He inspired many of us to start Saudi Konkan Youngsters in Dammam replicating the activities of SKAR – Riyadh. In fact the name SKY for the association was suggested and proposed by Peter in one of the founding meetings held at his own residence
Peter while you join your good friend Konkan Kogul Wilfy in heaven the Konkan Mai in particular and Mangalore Konkani community in general has lost a silent soldier in your heavenly journey. You were selfless in your service to Konkani and gutsy in organizing the konkan’s Milan in Dammam. Good bye Peter.
