Note from the Executive Committee of India Catholic Association, Chicago (ICAA Chicago)
ICAA members were extremely sad to learn that one of their oldest and most loyal members, Hector Lobo, had been summoned peacefully to his Heavenly Home on June 12, 2013. Hector was amongst the earliest members of the ICAA, having come to Milwaukee in the 1960's and moved to Chicago in 1973. He was a most dedicated and highly respected member. He served as our 17th President in 1979 and as an active member of the Board, Advisory Board or one of our many committees for over 35 years. He chaired the Golden Jubilee committee which was responsible for the extremely successful celebration of the ICAA's Golden Jubilee on August 21, 2010, at which Chicago Cardinal George was the guest of honor and presented awards to over 30 past presidents who attended the function. He was our Historian and presented a detailed history of our association at the Golden Jubilee celebration. One of Hector's favorite responsibilities was conducting the annual election of ICAA Officers. He conducted these elections in true Parliamentary fashion. Hector was active in many other organizations including the Knights of Columbus, where he rose to be the Grand Knight of his chapter.
We offer our deepest sympathies to Hector's wife Gertrude (our current Membership Secretary); his daughter Irina Ziemann (our current Corresponding Secretary) and her husband Joseph and children Claire and Wil; and to his son Jeffrey and daughter Kristy.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE
