Sr Marie George BS passed away on 04.08.2014 in Ranchi due to total renal failure in the 46th year of her Religious Profession and 74th year of her life. She was a member of Bethany Provincial House, Ranchi [Eastern Province]. She hails from Velim, Salcette, Goa. She was the youngest among the four children of the late Francis Xavier D’Costa and the late Rita D’Costa. 

Sr George has served in our communities at Sultanpur and Greater Noida (UP), Ludhiana (Punjab), Bethany Mother House (Mangalore), Karnal and Samalkha (Haryana) and McMandro (Jharkhand). Though she suffered from acute diabetes and other related diseases for 35 years, she was actively involved in the Educational and Socio- Pastoral Apostolate with love and dedication. She was deeply spiritual and most of her time she spent in prayer. Her commitment to the mission was total. She was well prepared to meet her beloved.

Her funeral rites will be held on 05.08.2014 at All Saints Church, Doranda in Ranchi at 3.00 pm. May her soul rest in peace.
