Father Hilary was an institution. He gave me admission to St. Germains in 1984 when we had just returned from Nigeria. School had started and we were late and only Father Hilary took a chance. He loved me a lot and would drop me to Quiz and Debate competitions because I would come late from home (had to catch 2 buses) and I was always late. He would give me a warning and then take me on his scooter to drop me to the venue so we could win St. Germains the cup. You can never forget your high school teachers and Father Hilary was an inspiration for all of us. God is lucky to have Father Hilary with him now.

Fr. Hilary was known as an efficient administrator & disciplinarian, at the same time a very kind hearted man. We were members of the St. Aloysius College Band during the 50's. He was playing the trumpet and I was playing the concert flute and clarionet. He was Eccle.Assistant of the Gentlemen's Sodality, Kodialbail. I can never forget his outstanding services as compeer for my wedding and the Portaphon function. We have lost a dedicated and devoted Jesuit who was loved & admired by all.

I had stayed at St. Joseph's hostel during my 6 month stay in Bangalore when Fr. Hilary was the warden. It helped me a lot as I had limited budget for my studies before starting work. It was a good disciplined life with mass in the morning and opportunity to interact with others during breakfast, lunch and dinner in hostel cafeteria. May his soul rest in peace.

I knew Fr.Hillary from the time I was in 4th Standard in the middle school at St.Aloysius, he had formed a beautiful children's choir (with the likes of Vivian Monis (now a Redemptorist,) his brother Lancy Monis and others)and taught hymns with Indian Music (Sanskrit) tunes like "Divya Lokada Pita Hamare ) (Our Father) Mojya Deva tum sorv Boro (Indian Tune ) and many others which I have never forgotten even after more than 50 years. Along with the late Fr.Stany Coelho and late Fr.Stany Vas, late Fr.Betram Sequira and late Fr.A.P.Menezes...I rate him as one of the great Jesuit Pastors of our times...a Musician, Singer, Sports enthusiast and always a friendly human being.

Ever since he was transferred to Bangalore, we at St.Aloysius really missed him very very much.

We are confident that he would certainly be now resting in the Heavenly Garden and specially pray to send down more and more Blessings from the Good Lord !!!
