Msgr Mark Gonsalves (64), son of the late Ignatius and the late Mary Gonsalves, Barkur, brother of the late Peter / Leena, the late Shabi / the late Adeline, Antony / Clara, the late Louis / Elizabeth, Margaret / the late Elias, Thaddeus / Lucy, Gretta / the late Clifford and Jerald / Jenevive, uncle of Shalet / Roy, Aleen, Pamela / Rajesh, Shareen / Rupesh, Dominic / Sarah, Derick / Cynthia, Ashok / Leena, Sherel / Colin, Tracy / Adrian, Terry / Jane, Lester / Joy, Foster, Angel Anita, Amith / Vivienne, Alvita / Paul, Amritha, Ryan / Anila, Kavita, Melissa, Joshua, Alisha, Jayamma and Mary Shruthi, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Funeral Service will be held at St Peter’s Church, Barkur on Wednesday, March 22 at 3.30 pm followed by burial. Cortege leaves “Marina”, Halekody, Barkur at 3.00 pm.
An eminent priest who served the Catholic Diocese of Bellary in various capacities. Completed his Studies at St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary Begaluru, was ordained a priest by the late Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Ambrose P Yeddanapalli at Barkur on 04/02/1981.
Served as Asst Parish Priest at St Antony’s Cathedral Bellary, Sacred Heart church Fort, Bellary, Asst. Director & Director of Cardinal Cushing Farmers Training Centre(CCFTC), Jawalgera,Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church Sirwar, Financial Administrator of the Diocese for many years, Vicar General and Chancellor of the Diocese, Committee member of Diocesan College of consulters, Editor of Diocesan monthly publication “Bala Spoorthy”, Parish Priest of Holy Family Church, Sindhanoor, Christ the Redeemer Church, Kurugodu.
