Funeral will be held on Monday, 24 July 2017 at 3.30 pm at Valencia Church, Mangaluru.

I am saddened to hear the news of the death of Fr. Lawrence Gomes. He was our Parish Priest at Shirva for six years and he gained the love and respect of all parishioners with his love and kindness. He was a soft spoken and straight forward person. Though he was busy with the parish work he made it a point to find some time in the evenings to visit the houses of parishioners, especially elderly, lonely and sick. A quality that is rare among priests these days!Good bye Fr. Lawrence Gomes. I am sure you are with our Lord. Please pray for us.
I remember my first HOLY COMUNIAN received from late FR. GOMES IN 1963 when he was Assistant Priest in Agrar PARISH.

I still remember his ever smiling face. He used to traverse 10 kms. each day to and fro Thodambila to S.V.S. High school, Bantwal via the marshy paddy fields. May his soul Rest n Peace.,
