M'lore: Inauguration of machines held at Assisi press

Mangalore, Jun 14: The inauguration and blessing of the new CTP and Heidelberg multicolor printing Machine of Assisi Press, a Unit of Capuchin Publication Trust, was held on the June 14, by the Bishop of Udupi Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo at Bejai.
During the stage programme after the Eucharist at 11:30 am J R Lobo MLA, Mangalore South, in his speech, mentioned about the responsibility of the media and the society.
The Bishop, speaking both in Konkani and Kannada appreciated the contribution of Assisi press for the past 42 years and also advised the staff to take care of the customers with lot of respect and concern.
He also hailed the Periodical of capuchins 'Sevakmonthly' printed in thousands from Assisi press for its contribution to the family values.
Sandra Maria Lorrin, manager, Karnataka Bank Bejai branch cut the inaugural ribbon and H P Ravindranath Hande, assistant general manager Karnataka Bank Ltd Mangalore Region and Dr Joseph Dolphy Pais, provincial, Holy Trinity province Karnataka started the printing machine and CTP by pressing the respective switches.
Fr Peter Cyprian D'souza, correspondent and Fr Alwyn D'silva, manager Assisi Press took care of the organization of the programme. Fr Darel Fernandes, Editor-Sevak monthly, compered the programme.
