Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee of Rev. Father Henry Madtha.

Rev. Fr Henry Madtha is celebrating his Silver Jubilee Thanksgiving Mass at Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Kuduvalli, Chikamaglur on May 11, 2009.

Fr.Henry Madtha was born on April 15, 1958, at Belthangady, near Mangalore. Fr.Henry is the son of late Mr. Joseph Madtha and late Mrs.Mary Pinto and brother of Mr. Isodore Madtha, late Mr. Marcel Madtha, Most.Rev Dr Ambrose Madtha Apostolic Nunico to Ivory Coast and Titular Archbishop of Naissus, Rev. Sr. Therese Madtha SCB and Rev. Sr. Bridget Madtha FMM.
After schooling at Church Primary School and Government Board High School at  Belthangady, He joined the St Marys Minor Seminary ,Mysore in the year 1973. 3 years later joined the major seminary at St Peters Pontifical Seminary, Bangalore.
For his Regency in the year 1979, he lived with Fr Zacharias Barwa at Bishrampur in Palamore diocese of Bihar  and a year later came back to St Peters Seminary for his Theology.
He was ordained on the May 19,1984 in Buskal for the Diocese of Chikmaglur by Most. Rev Dr Alphonsus Mathias with the first mass celebrated at Holy Redeemers Church, Belthangady on the May 20 ,1984, during which he blessed the marriage of his elder brother Marcel Madtha nd Magdalene Fernandes. 
After his priestly ordination, he ministered as follows:
Assistant Parish Priest at St Joseph's Cathedral, Chikmaglur. (1984-1985)
Parish Priest of St John’s Church, Arehalli (1985-1992).
Parish Priest of Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Magundi (1992-1999).
Parish Priest of St Francis Xavier Church, Magge (1999-2006).
On June 3, 2006 as he was returning from Bangalore, met with a near fatal accident at Hiresave near Channarayapatna as the jeep on which he was traveling collided with an oncoming Truck. He was immediately shifted to St John’s Medical College Hospital Bangalore. The doctors gave him only 2% chances of survival leaving the rest in the hands of God. He was on the ventilator for nearly 2 months and in the ICU for 3months.
All over the world the faithful relentlessly looked up to God to give back to them Karnataka's most prolific Preacher, Teacher and Healer. God heard the Prayers of his People and after 6 months our dearest Fr Henry was discharged from the hospital. In next one year he struggled with a memory loss and had to undergo physiotherapy and other treatment to get back to shape.
Presently, Fr.Henry is the Chaplain of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kuduvalli, Chikamaglur.
