Dear May and family, Our condolences and we share your sadness at passing of our beloved uncle Loui. Our family is known to Loui through late Uncle Stany and Flor Aunty. His BIL, Sydney is our close family friend. We met several times, including he visited us in US also. Very knowledgeable and sweet man, we will miss him and his life experience advice to younger generation. We pray for his soul rest in peace. Simon and Nirmala Lobo

A Patriarch in Spirit Dr Loui Monteiro 's other family in law – the Fernandes' of Falnir - will feel his loss dearly. Married to May, the eldest of the 12 Fernandes siblings, he was unofficially the patriarch of the family. Even though unrelated by blood, his experience and his kindness made him the person that all his sisters- and brothers-in-law, their spouses and nephews and nieces approached for advice and comfort. Louie bab – as he was affectionately called – was always willing to lend an ear and his considerable wisdom when any dilemma arose, and his generosity in offering both emotional healing and financial help are legendary. Family was very important to him, and he always brought everyone together whenever he visited Mangalore. Unstinting in affection, he offered wholly of himself with a twinkle in his eye and an enthusiasm for life that was always infectious and uplifting. The May Lodge clan, as it is called, will miss Louie bab in so many ways, but will always be buoyed by the memories of his love and guidance. Rest in peace, Louie bab, Uncle Louie.
We were neighbours near St. Ann's Friary, Bijjey, that many years ago. He could play the Violin!!! And I held him in high esteem. Later we became friends despite some discrepancy in our ages. He is our pride of Mangalore. Imagine his illustrious carrier. I wish all the family members my deepest sympathies. May he R I P

Dr.Monteiro as I used to refer was a very humble Man. Though Iet him casually during my morning jog. The simplicity and the warmth is something I cherish. He used to love to talk to people. A great human being. May his soul rest in peace.
