We lost you just a year ago
A sorrow that still sings,
Of all the tears and emptiness
The loss of a dear one brings,

Your love is still alive in us
We see it ever new,
Our mourning’s filled with happiness
By memories of you. 

A beautiful life has come to end,
Loved respected wherever you went,
Always so thoughtful, loving and kind,
What a beautiful memory you left behind.

Our lives go on without you
But things are not the same,
It’s hard to hide the heartache
When someone speaks your name.

We think about you always
And talk about you too,
We always have your memories
But we wish we still had you.

We hold you close within our hearts
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

So rest in peace dear loved one
And thanks for all you’ve done.
We pray that God has given you
The crown you’ve truly won.
 

We wish to extend our gratitude to all of you who have comforted
and joined us at the time of our profound grief over the last year.
Thank you for being with us and continue to pray
for Herbert’s soul and all of us.
