Mother
 
Dearest Mother Dear,
Thou art to me
Always so very near
to fill my heart
with goodness, love and cheer.
 
Each moment you care for me
often you fret
when your little birdies  have flown from thee
Leaving you alone in the Nest.
 
Your love is encompassing and endless
like the blue expanse of the sky
it’s fathomless
oceans mighty, fighting shy
 
Inspiration, oozes like sweet nectar
constant efforts to make me better
to see me bloom into life
like the tinkling music
produced by the dancing water.
 
In  years to come,
when I’m old and grey
my lips move for me to pray
to treasure and to abide
by, what you've always  strived
 
so that
I shall be worthy to be
the rich harvest
for which you perseveringly toiled
And then alone
Would the tree of my life
bear fruit
to pay you dear mother
an humble tribute
