Fr Sudhir Shenoy (Rudolf Fernandes) SVD (69), of Rosario Cathedral, Mangalore, presently at Palda, Indore, brother of the late Joseph Fernandes (+ Josphine), the late Wilfred Fernandes, Patrick Fernandes - Ex Canara Bank (+ Marie ), Derebail, Hilda Fernandes, Bangalore, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Catholic Ashram, Palda, Indore.

Funeral at Garden of Resurrection, Palda, Indore, on Friday, April 3 at 10:30 am.

Dear Josphine aunt & fly, Patty uncle & fly, Hilda Aunty Udas asaagi? It's sad to hear about Father. I knew him as a child and used to play with him when he used to come on his annual vacation. My parents - Jerry and Eunice Fernandes continue to live in Kankanady. I will let them know about Father. We are planning to visit Mangalore in August and surely meet with you! It was shocking to hear the passing away of Fr. Sudhir. I met Fr.Sudhir a few decades ago in Indore. I had greatly admired his work for the poor and the downtrodden. May the Heavenly Father give Fr. Sudhir eternal rest.

Fr.Sudhir was a good friend. We worked together for several years in the Indore Mission. He had a great love for the poor wherever he went and the poor loved him. He spent most of his active life in poor and marginalized areas of the mission, yet he was the happiest of us all. He was a musician and played the tabla and harmonium excellently. He enjoyed good company, good jokes and good laughter. The last time I visited him in Indore, two years ago, he could not recognize me due to his sickness. I kept calling him by his name and asked him if he recognized me, but he did not respond. That was a very sad experience. May the Lord give Fr. Sudhir eternal rest, now that He has taken him to Himself, after years of service in his vineyard. Fr. Sudhir, we will miss you.
