Mangaluru, Nov 26: To mark the post centenary decennial celebration, Mangalore Catholic Cooperative Bank Ltd (MCC Bank Ltd) distributed a charity fund of Rs 15 lac to 90 beneficiaries here at the PFX Saldanha memorial auditorium of the MCC Bank on Saturday, November 26.
Administrator and professor, Jeppu seminary and associate judicial vicar Fr Naveen Pinto inaugurated the charity fund programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Naveen Pinto said, "MCC Bank has shown a kind gesture in helping 90 beneficiaries by giving away Rs 15 lacs. Due to good help done by the bank, more customers should get attracted towards the bank. I urge beneficiaries that they too help the needy who come seeking help and god will definitely return it.”
Mayor Jayanand Anchan said, “I congratulate MCC Bank for recognising the beneficiaries who are financially weak and giving away Rs 15 lacs to them. Beneficiaries need to remember the help rendered by MCC, as in future the beneficiaries will also help those who are in need.”
Corporator Naveen D'Souza said, “We should never step back in helping the needy, MCC Bank has come forward to help the beneficiaries and has brought smiles on their faces. MCC Bank has earned the confidence of its customers and has worked relentlessly in the banking sector.”
The charity fund of Rs 15 lac were distributed to 90 beneficiaries for the financially weaker sections of the society to educate the girl child, children’s marriage, housing and medical treatment.
Vice chairman Jerald Jude D’Silva, directors Andrew D’Souza, Marcel M D’Souza, Joseph Anil Patrao, Harold Monteiro, Elroy K Crasto, J P Rodrigues, David D’Souza, Roshan D’Souza, Dr Gerald Pinto, Irene Rebello, Dr Freeda D’Souza, C G Pinto, Sushanth Saldanha, Felix D’Souza, Alwyn P Monteiro and Sharmila Menezes were present.
MCC Bank’s post-centenary decennial celebrations will be held on November 27 at Milagres College grounds.
MCC Bank chairman Anil Lobo welcomed the gathering, general manager Sunil Menezes and Viola Ferel Pinto compered the event.
