Istanbul, July 8 (IANS) At least 15 people have been arrested in Istanbul for their alleged involvement in match-fixing in Turkish football, a media report said.
Among those arrested was Sekip Mosturoglu, deputy chairman of Turkish champions Fenerbahce, and Bulent Uygun, manager of Eskisehirspor, Xinhua reported.
Fenerbahce chairman Aziz Yildirim refused to make a statement to police and was taken to an Istanbul court investigating the scandal.
Police released a statement stating that there was concrete evidence that 19 football matches were fixed last season in the Turkish first and second leagues.
