Man declared dead wakes up in ambulance after pothole jolt in Haryana

Daijiworld Media Network - Haryana

Haryana, Jan 13: An extraordinary incident unfolded in Haryana as 80-year-old Darshan Singh Brar, initially declared dead by doctors, came back to life after his ambulance hit a pothole on the way to his home in Karnal. The shocking turn of events reported by NDTV, occurred during the transportation of Brar's 'body' from a hospital in Patiala, Punjab. Mourners at Brar's home had already gathered for his last rites, with arrangements made for his cremation.

However, Brar's grandson noticed movement in his hand inside the ambulance, prompting him to alert the driver to rush to the nearest hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared Brar alive, contradicting the earlier declaration of death by another medical facility in Patiala, where he had been on a ventilator for four days.

Balwan Singh, one of Brar's grandsons, shared the events leading to the confusion, explaining that they had informed relatives and locals about Brar's demise, with preparations made for mourning, including setting up a tent and arranging food. As the ambulance traversed Dhand village in Haryana, a pothole jolted Brar's grandson, revealing signs of life.

Currently admitted to NP Rawal Hospital in Karnal, Brar's condition is critical, with doctors noting a chest infection contributing to laborious breathing. Dr. Netrapal from NP Rawal Hospital emphasized that upon arrival, Brar exhibited signs of life, raising questions about the circumstances leading to the earlier declaration of death and underlining the uncertainty surrounding the incident.

Many times we read that Patient is brought dead .Hardly doctors make attempt to reanimation or check properly.Even Patients were found alive or in were they keep dead bodies. If a person is prominent one all efforts are made to keep him in ventilator or ICU.So one should never give off hopes .Does anyone know how to feel Pulse ?learn for any emergency.

Lot of doctors don't know how to do CPR, leave using AED as somehave studied about 20 ~ 25 years back and their knowledge is outdated and not upgraded themself with new technology/procedure.It good if the medical board makes mandatory that all medicalprofessionalshave to renew their license atleast once in 5 years after upgrading themself with taking some courses.

The Pothole has come as a "Blessing in Disguise" for this Patient. Ambulances carrying "Pregnant Ladies" should avoid this road, else they will deliver on the pothole itself. This is the power of indian roads and potholes.
