Kasargod, Jun 7: Swift and timely police action helped quell the tension that was bubbling under the surface on Saturday June 6 at Mangad. The region has been edgy following violent incidents between CPM and Congress activists.

The police had information that miscreants would attempt religious conversion and in the wake of communal unrest, had provided tight security to the places of worship.

There were plans by the miscreants to malign a place of worship in Aramangana in Mangad. The police arrived on the spot and prevented any such incident. Over the past three days, the police had provided tight security in the place of worship and its vicinity.

Miscreants attempted to infiltrate the place of worship while the police were on a snack break on Saturday morning. Head of a dead buffalo was found near the temple during this time. Hundreds of devotees rushed to the place of worship soon after the news spread.

Deputy commissioner P S Mohammed Sageer, district police commissioner Dr A Srinivas, Uduma MLA K Kunhiraman and BJP district secretary K Srikanth visited the place.

The tension that prevailed between the Congress and CPM activists on Tuesday June 2 had turned to violence. The violence continued over the subsequent days. A vehicle belonging to a DYFI activist was set on fire on Thursday June 4. There was the possibility of another unpleasant incident on Saturday morning which was thwarted successfully.

The resumption of disturbances despite police presence has made the locals afraid.

When a person gets converted, the converter make sure that he or she wont go back to their original religion in future by poisoning their brain by ridiculing & talking ill about the original religion.

Since there is no strict law in India so many people gets converted every year....

In Saudi Arabia, conversion is a crime punishable to death!
