Udupi: Manipal University top among private universities in India: Survey

Udupi, Jun 7: Manipal University here steadily improving in its all-round performance has found a pride of place in The Week-Hansa Survey in the May 31, 2015 issue of the magazine. Manipal University has been ranked first among the top non-government (private and deemed) multidisciplinary universities in India.

With the depth and scale of research improving by leaps and bounds over the last few years, Manipal University is making its mark by doing well in one of the important parameters in any survey.

"Meaningful research is making the University academically stronger," said vice-chancellor Dr H Vinod Bhat. He added, "The next five years are going to be eventful even as Manipal University heads for silver jubilee in 2018."

In the 'India’s Best Universities' survey Manipal University has also been ranked 22nd among the top universities in India, ranked 1st among top non-government (private and deemed) multidisciplinary universities - south zone, and ranked 10th among top multidisciplinary universities - south zone.

The methodology used in the Survey 2015 to rank the universities is as follows: Factual information from over 500 leading universities were collected. Next, 226 academic experts across 20 cities were asked to nominate and rank top universities. Then, eight qualitative in-depth interviews were done among these experts to validate the collected data and to provide the rationale for the rankings.
