a great life spent in the service of the Lord... his unique contribution was for the development of the Konkani language in liturgy as well as in social interaction ( a big issue of concern as the next generation does not know the language)

Msgr Alexander D'Souza was a dedicated priest, supporter and promoter of KONKANI, encouraged writers, artistes. In 1980 during the Milagres Tercentenary, he called me and asked me to direct 'Milagres Pageant' a play about the history of Milagres written by the great late Mrs Loyola Lobo Prabhu, and translated into Konkani by the Msgr. himself. When I took the liberty to rewrite some of the scenes, he and Mrs Loyola both encouraged me. That showed their humility as well as trust in youngsters and their talents. That incident boosted my confidence to go ahead with my stage activities. May God rest the Noble soul in eternal peace.

Good bye Monsignor. You were a great blessing to the diocese of Mangalore. You were a visionary leader, great organizer, determined achiever and above all a true human being with lots of compassion for the last, least and the lost. You were a role model to us. we will miss you. You worked for the good of the diocese without counting the cost. You taught us how to be firm but friendly how to celebrate life and how to think big in order to achieve something meaningful in life. May Jesus along with His blessed Mother welcome you into the land of the living and give you a fitting reward for your dedicated work in and for the diocese of Mangalore.

Good bye Monsignor till we meet at Jesus' feet.

The demise of Msgr. Alexander is a big loss for the Mangalore and udupi diocese. No one can forget Msgr. Alexander because of his many years dedicated service for the diocese of Mangalore (Undivided Twin Districts ) as vicar general. again church lost another legend priest who lived a long priestly life serving poor and needy. He is an inspiration to not only the priests and nuns but to all the faithful irrespective of any caste and religion. We lost a great personality. May God give him eternal rest in Heaven and the strength to the church and his family to bear this great loss.

May the soul of the great leader of our community Msgr A.F.D'Souza rest in peace. 30 years back when Pope St John Paul second gave his historical visit to Mangalore (Bajpe), it was Msgr A.F. D'Souza, the chair person and chief organizer. It was a record for the diocese of Mangalore to gather more than 5 lakhs people at one time in the open ground. Msgr was a great leader and administrator. I experienced his love and care when I was a seminarian. He had a special love for the poor and needy. MSGR A.F. WILL REMAIN A LEGEND FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION. 25146025

A good and devoted Ecclesiastic has gone for his eternal reward. I have had the pleasure of knowing Monsignor Alexander for the past several decades. A good and kind person and at the same time a strong man with determination. I used to see him often when he was in power and I have been seeing him often during his difficult days. In fact during the course of the last one week I saw him twice. It was a sad to see the person decline from THE GLORIOUS YOUNG POWERFUL man that he was to what I saw of him during the recent days. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE

I offer my sincere condolences to all the members of the bereaved family and to The Diocese of Mangalore through Rt. Rev. Bishop A.P. D'Souza.
