Kuwait: Harish Bhandary elected president of Tulu Koota

Kuwait, Jan 20: The new managing committee members of Tulu Koota Kuwait 2016 have been unanimously elected, with Harish Bhandary being chosen as president of the association.

The AGM event commenced with a prayer song rendered by Madhav Naik, Bhavani Naik, and Raghavendra Naik followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the managing committee and advisory committee 2015.

The event, well hosted by Vishu Shetty, began with the presentation of the annual report by general secretary Wilson D'Souza followed by the presentation of the financial report by treasurer Vijay Kairangala. Both reports were approved by the audience. Tharendra Shettigar, outgoing president thanked one and all who helped in the smooth running of the association in his speech. Mementos were then given away to the main donors of the project 'Glimmer of Hope' and to the outgoing managing committees 2014 and 2015 as a token of appreciation.

The returning officer Lionel Mascarenhas then announced the new managing committee as follows:

President – Harish Bhandary
Vice-president – Wilson D’Souza
General secretary – Vijay Kairangala
Joint secretary – Madhav Naik
Treasurer – Rajesh Mendon
Internal auditor – Mohammed Iqbal
Cultural secretary – Sathish Acharya
Sports secretary – Rajesh Poojary
PRO – Paustine Pinto
Welfare officer – Chandrahas Shetty

The managing committee of 2016 while introducing themselves thanked everyone for electing them and assured of giving the best of services during their tenure in office. The newly elected president, Harish Bhandary, in his speech thanked all the committee members for electing him and expressed the team’s intention to make more provisions for the members of the association in the upcoming year.

The cultural program that followed thereafter, hosted by Purander Manchi, was an amalgamation of dance, music and drama. Children and adults danced on various songs, offered soulful display of their voice along with rib-tickling comedy skits. The cultural programme concluded with Santa joyously distributing sweets to kids and a cake-cutting.

The event came to an end with a vote of thanks by the joint secretary Madhav Naik, the National Anthem and dinner by KS Group of Restaurants. The lightings and sound were provided by Zain events, while the photography was ably clicked by Snipers Clickz.
