Bahrain, Sep 9: The election of the maiden executive committee of the Karnataka NRI Forum - Bahrain, which is formed with the noble intention of responding to the issues and welfare of the Kannadigas residing in this gulf island country for their livelihood, was held recently.
The following active Kannadigas from the local NRI community belonging to various castes and religion, who have a concern for the society, were elected as the new office bearers.
Earlier, Leeladhar Baikampady was officially assigned as the chief for the potential Bahrain committee by the NRI committee Karnataka, an initiative of Karnataka government. Accordingly, the nomination of local Kannadigas for the maiden executive committee was done through Leeladhar Baikampady himself.

The forum, under the aegis of the NRI Committee Karnataka, will offer its services in Bahrain, according to the 'NRI code of conduct’ under the leadership of social activist and successful young organizer Leeladhar Baikampady.
This secular organization will unite all the Kannadigas, who at present are scattered into 16 various pro-Kannada and other community organizations as well as those who are still unorganized under one umbrella and work relentlessly for their betterment and also help them to get the benefits of the schemes for the non-residents that is made available by the NRI committee Karnataka.
In addition, this forum will be recognized as a prestigious organization which will be like a mother organization for all the Kannadiga NRIs of Bahrain and offer services to the whole NRI Kannadigas as per the protocol, direction and support of the Karnataka government.
This forum, which will be a guide to the lives of the Kannadiga NRIs of Bahrain, has already planned a mammoth cultural festival called 'Kannada Dindima' on October 12 at the local Indian Club auditorium in order to introduce the new forum as well as the maiden executive committee of the same to all the non-resident community of Bahrain in addition to giving the comprehensive information of the various benefit schemes of the Karnataka state government, which are available at present. This event will also promote the land, art, literature, culture and tradition of the motherland of Karnataka. This information was given by Leeladhar Baikampady in a press release.
