Kasargod, Jul 13: Ahmed Kabeer (25), an accused in a drug peddling case, who was being escorted to the court, escaped from police custody on Wednesday July 13. He was being escorted to the canteen in the court premises in the afternoon for food when the incident took place.

Police personnel are on the lookout for him. Kasargod police had arrested Kabeer while in the possession of drugs on May 23. He was the kingpin of a drug racket where MDMA was transported from Goa to Kasargod and sold. He was produced in the court and was in judicial custody.

He escaped when he was being escorted from Kannur central jail to Kasargod on Wednesday afternoon. Police had arrested Kabeer from Bengaluru after Ameer Ali (23), a resident of Vidyanagar station limits and main accused of drug peddling had escaped hoodwinking the police a few months ago when being escorted to the court.

These are the blot in the name of Muslim and the beautiful teachings Islam teaches. This drug menacr will destroy every household unless big fishes are not punished or eliminated permanently. Younger generation is on the path of self destruction. It can reach eveey household, no children are safe. We as a parents has lots of responsibility to keep track of our kids, although it's difficult as we don't live in a joint family anymore. We never know what will our kids turn into tomorrow. May God save every body especially teens from this drugs. How do we know what our kids are doing from behind us and whom do they mingle with as friends in today's busy world. If parents turn stricter with kids then these kids either run away from house or attempt suicide. Best option is eliminate the big fishes from the world.

    जेल की दीवारें इतनी पक्की नहीं कि गब्बर सिंह को 20 साल तक कैद रखें. He was inspired by Gabbar Singh's dialogue in film Sholay.
