Mangaluru: Unidentified body recovered from Gurpur river - Murder suspected

Mangaluru, Jun 7: A body of an unknown person was found floating in Gurpur river near Tippunagar ground on Friday, June 7.

The person is suspected to have been murdered before being dumped in the river. The body was found in decomposed condition. Police sources also said that the body must have been dumped in the river three to four days ago.

The hands and throat of the deceased was found to be tied with cloth. A stabbing injury is also found on the stomach.

The identity of the person dead is yet to be ascertained. Age of the deceased is said to be between 35 to 40 years.

A case has been registered in this regard.
