Karkala: Thieves steal Rs two lac from parked car in broad daylight

Karkala, Mar 7: In an incident which took place on Saturday afternoon, March 7, thieves stole Rs two lac from a parked car near Kabettu junction here.

Malini K (29), wife of Vincent Naveen Castelino, employed as carving worker at Sri Devi Shilpakala, had withdrawn Rs two lac from Syndicate Bank, Kabettu junction branch. She kept the cash in a plastic cover in her car and went to a general store nearby. The thieves struck that time, removed the cash through the open glass window of the car and fled by the time she returned.

Police personnel said that the thieves might have had followed her in a bike. They are examining CCTV footages to crack the case.

A police case is registered at Karkala town police station.
