Stanford University lists Puttur's Dr Pradeep Lancy Menezes among world's eminent scientists

Puttur, Nov 21: The global survey conducted by Stanford University listed Dr Pradeep Lancy Menezes, an old student of department of materials science at Mangalore University in the list of eminent scientists of the world.

Dr Pradeep Menezes, who hails from Puttur, is serving as assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr Pradeep L Menezes before joining the University, worked as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

He has produced over 100 peer-reviewed journal publications, 28 book chapters, and four books.

Dr Pradeep Menezes currently serves as a reviewer on over 50 prestigious journals and as an editorial board member of 10 journals.

Moreover, he had participated in many national and international conferences in roles such as conference paper reviewer, conference review committee member, conference technical committee member, and session chairman. He has peer-reviewed multiple books, book chapters, grants, and master's and doctoral theses. He has also prepared technical newsletters and tribology web notes for the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's (ASME) tribology division.

Awards

Dr Pradeep Menezes has secured First Rank with gold medal in Master of Technology in Materials Engineering at National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) (1999).

Received scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) Government of India for Ph.D programme during 2003-2008.

Education

Dr Pradeep L Menezes obtained Bachelor of Science from Mangalore University in 1995, Master of Science in Materials Science, Mangalore University in 1997, Master of technology Materials Engineering National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal in the year 1999. Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Engineering in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in the year 2008.

Pradeep Lancy Menezes, has successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled 'Role of Surface Texture on Friction and Transfer Layer Formation' at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2008. His thesis was a study 'using pin-on-plate sliding tester'.
