Udupi: Thieves strike two jewellery shops, decamp with gold ornaments

Udupi, Sep 15: Thieves decamped with gold ornaments from two jewellery shops situated at the main road of Hebri, late night on September 13.

Ganesh Jewellery below Canara Bank in a commercial complex beside the national highway on main market area of Hebri and Sri Rajarajeshwari Jewellers on Kucchur road are the shops that have been burgled.

Additional SP Siddalingappa, Karkala DySP Vijay Prasad, CPI Sampath Kumar and acting PSI of Hebri Shubhakar visited the spot and conducted spot inspection. Finger print experts have also collected the proof from the sites of incidents.

As CCTV camera is not available on both jewellers, apprehending thieves is a challenge to the police. Gold ornaments worth Rs 3.75 lac and ornaments worth Rs 3,750 were stolen from Ganesh Jewellery and Sri Rajarajeshwari Jewellers respectively.

Hebri police are investigating further.
