Mangaluru, Sep 16: Surathkal zone Muslim Ikyatha Vedike staged a protest here at the clock tower on Friday, September 16 against the state government for showing allegedly bias in the investigation of Fazil murder case.
Dakshina Kannada district had witnessed a series of murders in Bellare and Surathkal. Muslim Ikyatha Vedike alleged that there was discrimination shown by the government over the probe in the three murders that took place in the district.
The forum said that the government had announced a compensation and handed over the case to NIA and the chief minister had visited the house of Praveen Nettaru at Bellare.
The forum also alleged that the government had neglected the Masud and Fazil murder cases and did not announce any compensation to their families. Also, the case was not handed over to the NIA and neither the chief minister nor the home minister visited the homes of Masus and Fazil.
The forum also said that while the Praveen murder case was filed under UAPA Act, it was not applicable in Masud and Fazil murder cases.
