Udupi, Sept 21: Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha Uchila will be celebrating Uchila Dasara-2022, a 10-day long grand Dasara festival at the Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi temple from Monday, September 26 to October 5, G Shankar, honorary advisor said.
For the first time, ’Uchila Dasara-2022’, a 10-day long grand Dasara festival celebration is organising by Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha Uchila, will be held from Monday, September 6 to Wednesday, October 5 at Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi Temple', said G Shankar, honourary advisor.
Addressing a press meet at the temple office, he said, “all the preparations for celebrating Dasara is on in full swing. Artists from Shivamogga are busy in designing the beautiful statues of goddesses at the temple premises. The installation ceremony of nine Durgas and Goddess Sharada will be held on Monday, September 26 at 9.30 am.
G Shankar said, “we want to make this event a memorable one.”
The newly built Smt Shalini Dr G Shankar open auditorium built at a cost of Rs 1.7 crore will be inaugurated on September 26 at 9.05 am.
He said there will have religious programmes everyday at the temple premises. Anna santharpane has been organised for devotees everyday.
Bhajan programmes will be performed by various Bhajana mandalis everyday between 10 am and 4 pm.
Kalpokta Pooja will be conducted at the temple from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm every day.
A beautiful decoration of the lighting on National Highway, from Kaup to Hejamady will be inaugurated on September 24 in the evening.
ISKCON will be preparing special prasada for ten days during the festival.
A grand Shobhayathra of the nine Goddesses will be held on Wednesday, October 5, on the Vijayadashami day.
The procession will start from Uchila temple by passing through Yermal - Padubidri – Hejamady and then return from there to reach Kaup. The idols will be immersed near the Kaup light house.
The colourful procession will be accompanied by a tiger dance, tableaux and various cultural teams. Shankar said they were expecting that more 100 tableau to participate in the Shobhayathra.
Cultural programmes are organised by the committee; A popular known team ‘Nruthya Bharathi Kadri’ Mangaluru will be giving classical and folk dance performances from September 26 to October 4.
‘Shanthaveenavallari’ will be performed by Pavan B Achar Manipal team on September 30 between 4 pm and 5 pm.
A huge Gangarathi Pooja will be held at the Kaup beach and a mahamangalarathi will be performed by 1000 women at the Kaup sea shore.
The organising committee has requested devotees to visit the temple in large numbers.
