Udupi, Apr 25: P Bhaskar (64), retired headmaster of Nittoor higher primary school, breathed his last on Sunday April 24 due to cardiac arrest. Bhaskar, who was a popular teacher and fitness freak, has left behind wife, a son, and a daughter.
He used to play shuttle badminton near his home at Puttur near here, every day. On Sunday, he complained of chest pain while playing. Although he was rushed to Manipal Hospital immediately, he was declared brought dead.
Bhaskar, who began his professional life in Subrahmanya, retired after working in various schools and as an inspector of the department. At the time of retirement, he was the headmaster of the government higher primary school in Nittoor. He had also worked as the director and president of Public Servants Consumers Multipurpose Cooperative Society, besides being the president of Parkala Lions Club and member of Bharat Sevadal. He was into social service, by serving as office bearer in various organizations.
MLA, Raghupati Bhat, and a large number of his students and well-wishers paid homage to the late Bhaskar.
