Sep 23: Dakshina Kannada reports 10 Covid cases, five infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 23: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, September 23, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,995 out of which 52 are currently active. As many as 16 patients were discharged on September 23.

Zero deaths were reported on September 23. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.32% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five coronavirus cases were reported on September 23. The total active Covid cases are 29.

A total of 10,90,696 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,183 have received both doses and 2,83,458 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported one case, while Kundapur added four cases and Karkala registered zero.
