Mangaluru: Srinivas University celebrates Freshers Day

Mangaluru, Sep 25: The Srinivas University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism and Department of Interior Design celebrated Freshers’ Day (PRARAMBH 2022) on September 24 at the varsity's city campus, Pandeshwara here.

Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, honorable chancellor, Srinivas University, mangaluru and president, A Shama Rao Foundation presided over the function. In his presidential remarks, he emphasized the importance of hard work and self-involvement in building the bright future of students in the field of Hotel Management and Tourism and also interior design and decoration.

A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee-member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, and Prof E. A Mitra S Rao, trustee-member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, Dr P S Aithal, vice chancellor, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (development) were the guests of honour of the programme. The guests of honor prestigiously awarded the badges to the newly elected Student Council members of Srinivas University Institute of Hotel Management; Tourism and Department of Interior Design.

A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, during her speech to the freshers, highlighted the opportunities that the hospitality industry holds and encouraged them to be passionate while choosing their career path.

Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, administered the oath to the newly elected Student Council members and during her speech, she stressed the importance of Hotel Management and Interior Design courses and gave a glimpse of the current global scenario of the hospitality sector and interior design while focusing on being more innovative to excel in this field.

Prof Swaminathan S, dean, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism was also present on the occasion and congratulated all the students for making this programme a grand success.

Arya Savan Shirodkar of IV Year BHMCT welcomed the gathering and Shravya Shetty of III year BSc ID proposed a vote of thanks. Cultural programmes and cake cutting ceremony were the main highlights of the event.
