Bangalore Police Commissioner Files Petition in HC

Bangalore, Apr 26 (PTI) City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari today filed a petition before the Karnataka High Court questioning the legality of a CAT order directing a certain category of officers to be recommended by the UPSC for empanelment for the post of DGP.

The Central Administrative Tribunal on an application filed by Director General (Home Guards and Fireforce) D V Guruprasad, has passed an order on April 21 directing the state government to send proposal of eligible officers (of particular categories) for the post of DGP.

Challenging the order in which the category under which he (Bidari) comes has been excluded, the commissioner in his petition said that since he is officer who has put in 30 years of service, he should be included.

The state government is, however, yet to send the proposal.
