Udupi, Apr 27: When the bundles of English answer sheets relating to the recently held SSLC examination were opened for valuation work at the girls government school centre in Udupi on Tuesday April 26, the valuators were confused. 108 Kannada answer sheets were found tucked into the English answer sheets bundle. This happened in the bundle marked as 31 E, it is gathered.

Report about this strange happening was sent to higher authorities. Detailed investigation alone can bring out the truth as to whether the officials manning the examination centres had committed this blunder while collecting answer sheets, those assigned with valuation work said. These 108 answer sheets were sent back. Till these papers are get entrusted for valuation and they are valued, the results of the children in question will be hanging in balance, and there is possibility of their results getting delayed, some people feel.

This year, reports of answer sheets having got wet due to rain and destroyed by fire have come in. Irresponsibility of officials concerned has no doubt created this situation. It is hoped that no more such incidents will come to light as the valuation work progresses.
